My journey to Bodywork Bowen Therapy
My interest in complementary therapies rekindled when I heard about Reiki in the early 1990s. Soon after I learned Reiki and became aware of the many aspects of the energy of the body. I investigated many therapies and was drawn to Reflexology. While working I studied part-time and completed a Diploma in Reflexology and opened my first practice at my home in Toowoomba. There were new horizons for me to explore and I continued to study and improve my knowledge on this topic. I studied the Ingham method, Thai foot massage and foot joint mobilization techniques which I still use in my regular reflexology treatments.
A friend introduced me to Bowen, a Therapy that allows the body to reduce pain and increase mobility. I was deeply impressed by this powerful yet gentle technique. I decided to learn this form of bodywork and commenced the study of Diploma of Bowen Therapy. In 2011, I became a certified Bowen practitioner and have been using Bowen in my clinic ever since.
Each year I complete workshops to expand my knowledge and increase my awareness of developing concepts and viewpoints.
Today, I continue to research and study to create treatments that provide the greatest benefit and well-being for my valued clients.
